We’re so very excited about the future of electric vehicles, and we’re not just talking about cars! Think of all of the diverse kinds of transportation and mobility that are currently running on fossil fuels. The range is broad, and the shift to electric-powered vehicles is rapidly emerging.
Yet, one of the challenges in the new energy equation is … batteries. Yes! What they’re made of. How they’re made. Their storage capacity. Their fate at the end of their life.
In addition to all of that, the dead weight of batteries is known to be a significant issue for electric vehicles, because they have to burn precious energy to transport that weight. So, since the start of 2022, we’ve been working on a new kind of electric vehicle, and creating a super unique motor that can turn that weighty burden into an opportunity.
eMM2 is an electric vehicle that features a mass-displacement motor in its wheels. It uses smart materials to displace a heavy power pack of batteries that is tugged to-and-fro within the wheels. In this novel design by Yeadon Space Agency, the wheel is the motor. A prototype for our eMM2 wheel/motor is currently being built and should be demonstrated during 2023.
